CE Department Graduate Fellowships for Academic and Research Excellence
April 18, 2014
The Civil Engineering Department is seeking outstanding graduate students for Department Fellowships for Academic and Research Excellence. These fellowships are offered to applicants of our graduate program with exceptional academic qualifications that are not otherwise being offered support from faculty grants or other funds. The criteria for these competitive fellowships include:
- A strong nomination by one or more departmental faculty
- Previous academic performance
- GRE scores
- Research experience and performance
- Submission of complete application to UNM by due date
Applicants wishing to be considered for these fellowships do not submit any additional paperwork, but they do need to have their completed application (including official GRE scores and letters of recommendation) to UNM by the required due date. Faculty will review the applications and provide written nominations for these fellowships. For this reason, it may be helpful for an applicant to contact one or more faculty directly about possible research areas to help ensure that appropriate nomination letters are submitted on the applicant’s behalf. The recipients will be selected by the Department Graduate Program Committee.
Application deadline for students starting in the fall: January 31
