Fan awarded the Fred Kavli Distinguished Lectureship

On February 9, 2015 Materials Research Society (MRS) awarded the Fred Kavli Distinguished Lectureship in Nanoscience to Dr Hongyou Fan. The Fred Kavli Distinguished Lectureship in Nanoscience is accompanied by a $1,000 cash award from The Kavli Foundation. MRS will also present you with a memento of the occasion prior to your lecture, which has been scheduled for Monday, April 6, at 7:00 pm, in the San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel, immediately preceding the President’s Reception.Hongyou Fan is a distinguished member of the technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories and a research professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of New Mexico. He received a B.S. degree in 1990 with a chemistry major from Jilin University, China, an M.S. degree in 1995 from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in polymer chemistry and physics, and a Ph.D. degree in 2000 from The University of New Mexico in the field of nanoporous materials and composites. His current research focuses on the development of new synthesis methods and self-assembly processes to fabricate multifunctional nanomaterials for applications in nanoelectronics, photonics and energy storage. read more
